Pontiac Repair: 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1L Electrical Problems, car wash soap, pontiac grand prix

Question
I recently purchased a used 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix. About a month or so into it ownership, the car died and refused to turn over. This was preceded by my lights dimming and the radio going haywire. I eventually replaced the alternator, starter, and battery. The car ran fine for another month or so and then did it again. Any idea what the problem could be?

Answer
Hey Joshua:
It could be a bd alternator if you bought a "cheap one" from like an autozone or o'riles or advanced you get what you pay for. Did the battery light come on on the dash? that is a dead give away that the alernator is not charging. Thos auot parts store do do free electrical system check that's about all I would go to any of them for other than to but car wash soap or engine oil. If indeed it's bad go and get one from a NAPA store or a Carquest store. Good luck:)
