Pontiac Repair: 1992 heater controls, heater control valve, question pool

Question
On my 1992 grand am I have a warm hose going into my heater core and cold comming out. I am thinking a cloged heater core or does this car have a heater control valve for coolant flow and how do I get the heater core out?
Thanks Don

Answer
Hi don:
sorry for delay for some reason this question was in the question pool and not directed to me peronally. To answer your question. No there is no heater control valve on that car The core could be either bound up with an air pocket if the car was run low on coolant or it's plugged up. You can try to take the hoses off and back flush the pipes with a garden hose and see it that helps just be very careful those pipes get VERY brittle over time and have a tendency to break if you muscle them to much. Good Luck :)
