Pontiac Repair: Leaking Coolant, pontiac gt, plastic tubes

Question
I am fixing a 1998 Pontiac GT Grand Am (Twin Cam) for a friend.  She was told it
was her water pump so I said I would put a new water pump in.  That was done
and it still is leaking, but from a 90 degree rubber boot coming out of the
firewall that has nothing hooked to it.  I was thinking heater core, but I am not
sure because it does not look like that boot goes to the heater core.  Any info?

Answer
Hey Jacob:

Yup it's a heater core no doubt about it. Either the core it's self is leaking or one of the plastic tubes cracked going to the core. It's pretty common on the higher milage cars. that boot is the drain pan for the HVAC box inside the car it drain out any fluid so it the carpet doesn't get wet. Good luck :}
