Pontiac Repair: 2002 Montana, pontiac montana, water leaks

Question
Hi,Tod.

I have a 2002 Pontiac Montana and the rear windows are staying open. I can no longer close them. I check the fuses and it does not seem to be the problem as they are ok. Is there a way to close the windows without having to get the motor changed or getting major repairs done?

Thank you,

Chizuru

Answer
Hi Chizuru:

No there isn't an easy way to get them closed. My guess is that you have a wiring issue going back to the motors. those vans have issues with water leaks and the wire harness on the right side of the van under the passenger front floor under the door sill plate that harness sits in water and it corrodes the harness up. there is a wire splice in that bundle of wires it's either a yellow or brown wire I can't rememeber which it is that goes bad take a quick peek uner the carpet if there is wather in there you found the issue. if not the problem is elsewhere. Usulayy when you have this issue with corrosing the door locks will also quit working from the drivers door. those wires colors are lite blue and a white wire. Good luck :)
