Pontiac Repair: Engine and wheel issues, power steering pump, side tire

Question
I have a 92 Grand Prix Coupe SE 3.1 liter (I think). While driving I hear this "whirring" sound come from the passenger side in the engine, and I notice lately its harder to press the gas and turn the car. I know the intake is dirty and needs to be cleaned again, but I never heard that whirring sound before. It doesn't happen when I turn on the car or when I slow down, only when I hit the gas.

Secondly, on my front drivers' side tire (only that tire) I hear a click clack sound when I hit a bump. thats the only tire that does it, the passenger side and the back tires don't make that sound. I have no idea what that is?

Answer
Hi June:
Noises are hard to find. But on that side of the car/engine it could be either the alternator making noise or the power steering pump making noise. they are both on the right side of the car. I don't think the gas pedal issue is part of the same problem. You could have a pedal cable binding or the throttle body on the engine could be binding up. As for the noise it could be loose brake pads in the calipers when driving over bumps lightly epress the brake pedal if the noise is gone then that's what it is. if not it could be a broken coil spring on the front and it's ratteling over bumps. just strictly a guess. Good luck :)
