Pontiac Repair: remote car starter on Pontiac, remote car starter, remote starters

Question
PLEASE HELP!!!  I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am  4 cylinder.  I have been having A LOT of problems with it the past month.  I just recently replaced the pass lock, body mod, and starter.  MY CAR IS STILL ACTING UP!!!  I have came to the conclusion it is my remote car starter.  I cant start my car with the key the first few times in the morning, whoever I can always start it on the first try with the remote car starter, which I don't want to relay on.  After my issues in the morning the rest of the day is smooth sailing like nothing was ever wrong in the first place.  today, however I can only start my car with the remote starter and NOT with the key.  It appear to be getting worse.  Should I go to a Auto mechanic or to the place I got my remote car starter installed to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Jody

Answer
Hey Jody:

I hate those remote starters!!! They cause more trouble then they are worth. I would go to your mechanic and have him remove the system completely and where the factory pass lock housing was taped into for the remote start have the wiring put back to the way it was meant to be and have them solder all the connections back together at the pass key lock housing. then the vehicle theft deturant will have to be relearned to that housing. if the wires are just "but connector" attached that is not a good solid connection and that system is very touchy for proper power and signal voltages to the body control module. Good luck and that should fix you woes before you get stuck somewhere!
