Pontiac Repair: 1991 pontiac grandprix 3.4 twin dual cam, pontiac grandprix, grandprix 3

Question
WHEN I START THE CAR IT IDLES WAY TO FAST I CHECKED THE TPS AND IT IS ALLRIGHT WHAT ELSE COULD BE CAUSEING THIS PROBLEM.

Answer
one of 2 issues. If you have a scan tool when you start it up cold check not only the tp voltage but also the tp throttle angle %. if it showes anthing other than 0% throttle angle it would venture to say that you have an issue with the 5 volt refrence signal to that sensor. There is an A/C pressure trnasducer on the high side A/C line it has 3 wires on it that usually causes the refrence voltage to get skwed causing tp issues. if not that the the lower intake manifold gaskets are bad. when the car is warmed up and the idle calms down remove the plastic cover over the fuel injectors and spray small amounts of car cleaner around the lower intake. If the idle speeds up or it starts to stumble you found the problem. replace the lower plenium gaskets. It's a pretty common issue once they get some miles on them. Good luck :)
