Pontiac Repair: 2000 Pontiac Flashers, brake warning light, pontiac montana

Question
I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and the left flasher does not work sometimes. Both turn indicator lights stay lit up on the console, and I can get the relay to fire on the right signal, just not the left. The emergency flashers are also stuck. Do I need to change the flasher, and if so where and how can I locate the module?

Answer
Hey Robert:

It may be the fasher that's bad. the turn and 4 way all go through the same relay/module. it's by the steering column. just turn on the flasher side that works and listen for the clicking noise and you'll find it. It could also be the t/s 4 way flasher switch in the column bad or I have also seen the tail light circuit boards go bad in these vans cause all kinds of ABS issues brake warning light lamps to come on and the t/s flash fast. Hwn this happens you also do not have brake lights on that side of the van. Just a couple of other things to check. Good luck :)
