Pontiac Repair: low oil light, oil sending unit, oil light

2002 Pontiac gp low oil light come on and stays on. stop restart engine light will go off and stay off sometimes. replaced oil sending unit. can't find a shorted wire? sometimes you start it and it will stay off

Hey Don:

You said the oil sending unit was changed?? The low oil or check oil light is a switch in the oil pan on in the block? did you change the correct one. The one in the pan is in the front of the car the oil sending unit is on the back side of the engine. If you did indeed change the correct one and the light is still on I would look for a wiring issue. Hope that helped :)
