Pontiac Repair: 2000 Firebird, mass air flow meter, mass air flow

Question
I have a 2000 FB with a V6 engine. Starting at approx 45 mph the car is heistating, serging. Sometimes when you excelerate at a higer speed it will do it also.  I have had all the plugs and wires replaced, Fuel filter and fuel injection cleaned. Any ideas on what is going on? I have spent close to $1600 on this so far and the GM service cannot seem to figure it out.

Answer
Hi
Sounds like maybe a coil is breaking down under pressure and heat.
They SHOULD be able to watch this data on Tech2 scan tool.
Have them check the Mass air flow meter and  screen for debris.
Have the Catalyic Converter(s) checked. They too, create similar concerns.
Should not be that big of deal.....I would also consider having a talk with the service manager at the location for some help on the cost of repairs, if all this has been done and it is not been fixed yet.
Good Luck
