Pontiac Repair: oil filter gasket, pontiac grand am, excessive oil

hi, i have a 1999 Pontiac grand am,3.4 litre v, my problem to me seems very strange,whenever i start my car and let it idle its fine, but as soon as i apply gas the oil filter gasket blows out between the filter and motor, i checked for tightness and all seems fine, the filter is the one recommended for this model,hope you can help because im at my wits end....thanks

FIRST MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT "DOUBLE GASKETS" ON THE FILTER.
I would have the oil pressure checked.
It sounds like there is a build up of excessive oil pressure and it is blowing out the weakest gasket closest to the pump. (oil passage blocked possible cause)
The pump MAY also be at fault.
