Pontiac Repair: 99 Pontiac Bonneville (6 cyl) starts but dies, pontiac bonneville, keyless lock

Hello - my car acts like it's going to start but then dies immediately.  Someone suggested it may be due to the security system so I locked it with the keyless lock and it sat for several hours.  It started and I was able to drive about 2 miles before it died and then wouldn't start.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

If the security light is on steady or on blinking, it is a problem with PassLockIII system.
If it is on for 5-10 seconds then goes off, it is NOT a security problem.
Not to say it is not a problem.
I would recommend taking it to a repair shop your familiar with and have the PCM scanned for codes.
It may be setting codes for Security system.
