Pontiac Repair: Keyless Entry not working - 2001 MontanaEXT, load sensors, panel instrument

Question
Vehicle is a 2001 MontanaEXT, Auto trans, 6 cyl.  The keyless entry just stopped working.  I changed the batteries in the remotes and had dealership verify that the remotes worked properly.  Still the vehicle does not recognize them.  There must be a receiver in the vehicle.  I cannot get a straight answer from the dealership.  They are telling me to drop off and they will explore.  Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

Answer
Hi
Common issue.
The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver is PROBABALLY at fault.
Now you MAY have weak FOB's (remotes).
If it was at my dealership I would program new fobs to your vehicle.
If they worked, your fobs are weak.
If not the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver is the probabal faulty.
It is located DIRECTLY under the front windshield under the front most trim panel ( instrument panel (IP) upper trim). To remove take off the side "A" pillar trim (windshiels left and right inside trim pieces(where an assist handle is or would be located).
Then lift up on the panel to release clips.
It is NOT screwed in. It MAY have 1 or 2 sensors located in it (Sun Load sensors).
I think the module is mounted to the bottom of this panel.
If not it is right in the center.
I Hope this helps.
Follow post back, if needed.
Good Luck
