Pontiac Repair: Used Car, warranty law, pontiac grand am

Question
I would like to say that I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM SE 4 Door. My car engine is a v6 3100. When I start up my car it cuts back off. If I started it up, it would only stay started for a couple of seconds and cut back off. I was told by the car salesman that he had it put on the machine and that they told him it was spark plugs and wire for 1, 3, and 5. So is there a way that you can tell me whats wrong with my car before I go and spend a lot of money on it.

Answer
Hi
I depending on where you live and how long you had car, They HAVE to fix it within 30 days. Check your local laws, but MOST states ahave a Used car law or 30 day warranty law, something to protect you the buyer from hidden problems that arise after purchase.
If you have not had it over 30 days, I would check your local BBB, Chamber of commerce or Car sales board. Something to see if your state has such a  law (MOST do)
Then I would demand they repair vehicle, if it falls within this.
Good Luck
