Pontiac Repair: 2001 Pontiac Sunfire pulls when shifting, pontiac sunfire, control arm bushing

Question
My sunfire pulls to the left when shifting. It pulls gently when straightline shifting, and YANKS left when shifting while on a curve.
My hubby had replaced the a-arm bolt when we first noticed this problem. It stopped. Now the cars is doing it again, worse than before and the a-arm seems to be fine.
Any suggestions on what could be the problem?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Laura:
this is an odd one. usually you get torque steer to the right not the left. I'll assume you have had the alignment checked on the car and the car has 4 good tires all the same size and same brand/model of tire? Other then that I would just double check all the suspension components. These cars were noted for lower control arm bushing failures the rear bushings would pull out of the arms. It uaully will not cause a pull but for sure clunking noises over bumps. One last thing to check is the engine and transmission mounts especiallt the upper munt on the front of the engine and the lower mount on the engine under the oil pan. good luck :)
