Pontiac Repair: Cooling Fan comes on randomly, fuse box, cooling fan

Question
This is a 2001 Grand Am SE with a 2.4L 4 Cyl.  Just picked it up a few days ago with 96K miles.  Doing a little cleaning on it in the shop, and all of the sudden cooling fan #2 comes on, the one for the A/C!  Car was cool, keys were out.  It would go off if I turned the key to the On position, and come back on if I turned it Off.  I started it, and it shut off, so I turned the A/C on, and it came on like it should.  Shut off the A/C but it kept running.  Shut the car back off and it still kept running.  Had to unplug it.  Any idea what would trigger this to come on?

Thanks

Answer
Hi
Going over the schematics, it looks like the Cooling Fan #2 relay COULD be occasionally sticking ON.
You could just replace the relay, probabally a $10.00-15.00 relay.
I really see no other reason, unless the fuse box is at fault OR the fan wire is shorted to Power.
I hope this helps.
Good luck
