Question
QUESTION: Been having problems getting the key to turn over its pretty worn. When it did turn the car didnt attempt to start. The air bag and serv eng soon lights were on. Didn't ding. Then those lights went off and all others came on, they started going crazy. When I turned key bak to off all lights stayed on or would flash. When I turn key over it's like a disco party w the dash lights.

ANSWER: Hi jennifer:

well this can be caused by a lot of different things. First off get a new key cut at a dealer they can cut a brand new key with all the proper depts of cuts. If you take your worn out key to a hardware store they will make you a copy of a worn out key. That is not cuaing your issue but your going to hget stuck not beiang able to turn the key. as for the no crank and all the lighst flashing it can be cause by something as simple and a weak battery or a bad connection at one of the battety terminals. It could be a bad ignition switch the electrical part that the key cylinder turns. If it had a lot of miles on it the contacts in the switch tend to burn up and then cause the issue like your experincing. those are my 2 best guesses. good luck :)

QUESTION: Replaced the battery and did test on it which read:  P0172 generic system to rich Bank 1.  How do I go about repairing this problem?

Answer
that code is going to be hard to find the issue with out the aid of a true scan tool not a code reader. you could have a leaking injector or a pressure regulator for the fuel system that is leaking into the vacuum line for the engine. with the engine running pull the vacuum line off the regulator ther should be no raw fuel in the vacuum line if there is the regulator is bad. a leaking injector you will not see.
