Pontiac Repair: 99 pontiac grand prix, suction at oil cap, needle nose pliers, crankshaft bearings

Question
hello, i have a 99 Pontiac grand prix gt 3.8L. every once in a while the belt will make a squealing noise and i would assume that is just the belt, but when i take my oil cap off it sucks in a large amount of air and almost kills the engine but then the squealing in the belt will stop. i work at a place that deals with a lot of cars and i know it's supposed to suck a little bit but mine is abnormal. the original engine i had in it had the crankshaft bearings go out at 125k miles i don't know if this had anything to do with it. i replaced the engine with the same size. but the squealing is still there and also the suction at the oil cap. i would check the PCV valve but i don't know where exactly it is. i don't know if it's just not getting enough air or what, but it drives fine just squeals every once in a while. if i rev it up quickly sometimes the squeal will stop.

Answer
Hi
It really sounds like it COULD be your PCV valve.
It is located under the MAP sensor. That is on the front of engine(passenger side) right on top. It is a small square sensor with 3 wire terminal.
If you remove  the ssensor from the clasps, then with a 5/8" socket twist the bolt head you'll see, the PCV valve is then visible. Removal will be easy with a pair of "Needle Nose" pliers. BE CAUTIOUS all the material you'll be dealing with IS PLASTIC.
I Hope this helps.
Just advice from experience.
Good Luck
