Pontiac Repair: 1997 pontiac sunfire overheating, blown head gasket, crackling noise

hiya my car is making a crackling noise as it becomes overheated...now im having to add water like every 2 or 3 miles...my husband says its the theromstat and my brother says its the radiator...i want to ask a professional lol...its ok if i drive it to the corner store and back...but long distance..and im talking at least 5 miles...it overheats ...plz i need advice before i take it to a shop...

I can tell you you REALLY need to get it to a repair shop SOON.
Unless it is leaking from the thermostat, I really doubt that is what it is.
You are having to add water, it is USUALLY a leak OR a blown Head gasket (kinda common on these vehicles).
As I stated, these are JUST advice or suggestions from experience.
You need to have it checked out SOON.
