Pontiac Repair: 2001 Grand Am SE, 4 door, 4 cyl, gm dealer, older cars

Question
Hi!
Okay, my car won't start.  Just had to say that, sorry.  Actually, this is true and I'm perplexed and need to eliminate to find the problem.  The battery is good, as are the cables, and the starter is in good shape.  It just won't fire, and as you know, once you look under the hood, it's wise to know where to start!  I'm wondering about the fuel filter, but my husband believes it's electrical.  We're use to working on older cars!

Thank you in advance for any advice.  It might save me from having it towed to the nearest GM dealer!

Answer
Hi
Does it crank? (spin over but not start?)
I need you to observe the Security light on the dash.
Does it stay on or blink?
If so You have a Passlock problem.
If it goes out, we'll need to go a little deeper.
Does it get spark?
We'll need to check fuel pressure.
First thing would be the Security system.
