Pontiac Repair: 95 Bonne Random Shut Off, crankshaft sensor, crank sensor

Question
I have a '95 Bonneville SE 3.8 v6.  For the past several months I have been having a problem with a random shut down problem.  There is no pattern to the shut down. I have done other research and what I have found is that this paticular model has had problems with bad grounds causing problems.  I have cleaned and reseated all 3 ground point on the engine box, I have replaced the positive battery cable to the starter and alternator, and the negatice battery cable.  Some one suggested that the ignition control module could be the cause so I replaced the ignition control module and all 3 ignition coils. The plugs and plug wires and serpentine belt were recently replaced due to a different problem. I have also recently had the fuel filter replaced as well as the fuel injectors and throtle body cleaned.  Any other suggestions? Could I have a bad computer?

Answer
Hi
It is possible to have a bad PCM.
I would though check the crankshaft sensor. I also would check the wiring harness from crank sensor to the Ignition Control module.
There also may be a fuel pump problem, see if there is any way you could hook a manual fuel gauge to the fuel system and tape the gauge to the windshield and drive it around... see if the fuel pressure drops off.
Is there any codes stored in the computer?
Does it do it at any same time, or place..
Just questions.
I hope some of this helps.
Follow up post, if needed.
Good Luck
