Pontiac Repair: 96 grand am, alternater, grand am

i have a 96 grand am wont hold charge replaced alternator still wont charge tested new alt tested good checked voltage at back of alternator it was 17 volts it has a 2.4 4 cyl thanx

ok well the alternater should only be putting out like 14 v   do this charge the battery and discoonect it over night, if its still up in the am you do have a dischage, what we do is connect a amp quage between the battery and the pos connection and test the draw, we them pull fuses one by one to see what one has the dram and then track that syayem down its easy that way
