Pontiac Repair: A/C not working, 1997 pontiac sunfire, pontiac sunfire

QUESTION: Hi Larry: I have a 1997 pontiac sunfire that the ac is no longer doing its job.  I have already taken it to 2 different repair shops. Twice in 2 weeks they have put freon in and used a dye to find out if it is leaking. No leaks. Have not given me any options either. Would appreciate any help from your site here. Thanking you in advance.

ANSWER: ok after they put dye in did it work? if so then now it doens t it prob has a leak  but maybe in the evaporator. do you smell funny smells with the a/c in the vents when it was running? if it was workinmg after a rechange and its not now then there is a leak

QUESTION: Hi Larry: Thanks for getting back to me ASAP.In my response to you above. No funny smells coming from the a/c vents.Both times it was recharged and dye put in there were no leaks detected. And this ole girl has been to 2 different repair shops.  Worked for a day both times. Hope you might be able to figure this out because they can't. Thanking you in advance once more.

well if it had to be cahrged twice and dye put in it and it leaked out again ,, there is a leak , somewhere.. i would suspect if they cant see it that it is in the evaporater in the dash .. if no signs of day are anywahere else,,, now if the system didnt leak out and is still fully charged let me know
