Pontiac Repair: repair question, turn signal switch, steering wheel puller

Question
how do you replace the key switch on a 1998 pontiac bonneville

Answer
Hi
***If you have never been inside a steering column before I would HIGHLY recommend taking it to a professional for repairs, because any mistakes you make will be VERY costly AND may cause injury.****
You'll need 2 special tools.
You'll need a steering wheel puller, and you'll need a Lock plate spring compressor.
You'll need to disconnect battery and disconnect air bag under dash.
remove air bag inflator module.
remove steering wheel.
Remove the air bag clock spring, dont turn it, you'll really mess it up.
use spring compressor and compress the lock plate. You'll need to remove the "C" clip
remove the lock plate.
Remove the screw that holds on the turn signal lever. remove the actuator rod.
Remove the Hazard flasher switch.
Remove the screws that hold the turn signal switch on (3) and pull it out. You wont need to totally remove it, just pull it up.
Then remove the Key in switch buzzer contact.
You'll now see the screw that holds the switcvh in... remove screw and pull switch out.
Installation is reverse of removal.
