Pontiac Repair: brakes, pontiac sunbird, 1991 pontiac sunbird

Question
Hi, I have a quick question about my 1991 pontiac sunbird I was driving to work this morning and I went to brake and I heard a loud noise and my front brakes would not work after that they only worked if i would press the pedal all the way to the floor when i first heard the loud noise they did'nt work at all and i went right through a red light, so I did'nt know if maybe it was a brakeline that blew or what when i got to work thier was brakefluid all over by the front driver's side tire, and if thats what it is are they easy to fix by myself? and how much does a brakeline run? And would u happen to know of a web site that could walk me through on how to fix it myself if thats what it is? Thank you

Answer
ok hjere we go.... first fill the brake master cyl with fluid , then have someon poump the brakes and you look behind the wheel where the fluid is coming out , you may have to jack up the car and remove the wheel.. after you see where it is , its prrob the rubber brake line, you could try to do this yourself ,, but if its rusted it might have to be heated and if its the metal line that has the hole the flaring tool will have to be begged bought or borrowed. its your call if you get a rubber line and replace it your self you will have to bleed and 4 wheel for air and those bleeders can be hell if they havent been open in ahwile
