Pontiac Repair: sunroof, sunfire gt, foriegn

Question
The sinroof on my 1997 Sunfire gt stopped opening and closing as it come to close.It now stays slightly open.when
I touch the switch it moves in the open position a 1/16 th
of an inch but does not return.Motor or tracking ?

ok well without seeing it it s hard to tell, what you can do it you wish is this first look in the tracks for any broken parts or peices or foriegn objetcs,, then if that doesn nothing its prob a track problem, you can remove the head liner and take the two bolts out and remove the motor and see if it will slide forward with ease and then back a little bit maunally, also when you take the motor out and drop it down see if it goes forward and back awards, inspect the drive gears as well
