Pontiac Repair: 1992 Sunfire 2.2L fuel leak, rubber connection, rusty spot

Question
My friends car seems to be leaking fuel from the hose/line connection.  I'm not sure wether it is return or supply, but it leaks like a siv when the car is running.  Doesn't leak when its off.  My question is, is it possible to fix that connection without tearing the entire fuel line out?  The connection is so rusty I'm afraid that if I tamper with it I will end up breaking it off and not be able to get it rigged back together...  I seen a replacement part in the parts store, but it would appear that its just the part that feeds into the rubber connection, and then connects to the line.  Is there a temporary fix, so that at least she can drive around without hitting a gas station every 2 hours or so?

Answer
ok if your leak is in the metal line running just under the drivers side just to the rear like i think it is , here is what you do, shut c ar off, get a hose and turn it on just in case of any fire,, take and remove the mental line from its holders and real easy move it away from the car, find a clean non rusty spot both on the one and then the other, now take a tuging cutter and cut the line into, remmeber there is still gas inti si becarefull, onc3e one cut is made do the same to the other end, then after both ends are cut remove that secion that is badm go to the part store and but a compression fitting for both enmds and a secion of line cut line a lil long and clean old line with light sand papaer to smooth it out, put lines together test for leaks and re snug fitings
