Pontiac Repair: 1995 Transport van, chec, fixed income

My 1995 transport 3.8 van with overdrive, doesn't go forward, this happened overnight, no noise, no leaks, only goes into reverse. Happened suddenly, the battery went, I got a jump and the car would not go forward, after a slow start,it went down the road as if nothing happened. Then I parked it and it will not go anymore as I am no longer on a hill.It seems to need a certain speed to go forward. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford a large repair. can you help? Thank you.

please chec k the fluid level while the vehicle is in park and running,check all fuuses if all is well you willo need to have thecomouter system read to see what its doing, you stated it goes in rverse fine... you might try if all fluis are full to drive it a few 100 feet in reverse there may be a stck valve inn the trans
