Pontiac Repair: key/ignition, wd 40, steering wheel

Question
I have a 1997 Pnotiac Grand AM, and when I put the key in the ignition...nothing happens...the key doesnt move...its like its stuck!! nothing happanes...its like the ignition is locked..I tried shift the gear or pressing the break peddle down..nothing!!

1. try putting it in and apply turning pressure to the steering wheel, if the wheel is in a tunred position putting pressure on it it will make the key lock seem stuck,, try that,, 2. try a diff key , kame sure it is the ruight key......if the wheel is not in a bind and you ahev the right key well then spray some wd-40 in there and work the key and lock back and forth and hope fully it will free up if not im afraid a new lock will be needed
