Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Ventilation System, pontiac grand prix, aluminum head

Question
2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE
3.1-liter aluminum-head V6
77,000 miles

The ventilation system in my car will only blow out hot air on the passenger side. The driver's side vents work fine. I can use the air conditioner, the regular vent or the heater and I get the appropriate air temperature. However, the vents on the passenger side will only emit hot air, no matter where I have the temperature control set. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Answer
Hi
2 things will cause this that I have run into.
1)Low freon charge will cause this problem on this
particular system. Take it to yuor mechanic and have them check and make sure it is not low on freon.
If so, they can preform a leak check either electronically, or using dye.
2) IF YOU HAVE passenger side seperate controls, the Temp. control actuater for the passenger side MAY be faulty, and they usually default to full hot.
2 things I have run into.
Good Luck
Just advice from experience.
Hope this helps.
