Pontiac Repair: 2001 Bonneville, check air filter, service engine soon light

My Bonneville hesitates at red lights or stop signs. It act kinda like it isnt getting gas. It has not cut off on me but service engine soon light has come on and is staying on.

the first thing is to use a cmputer and read the engine codes and live data, see what the engine is doing and why is it stalling, when was the last time it had general plugs, wires etc  tune up parts? clean throttle body and check air filter etc, many things can cause a stumble but first read the check enine light , youll oprob find it shows a missfire code prob due to lack of genral maintinaece
