Audio Systems: Stereo connections, vcr input, vcr audio

Question
QUESTION: I purchased a Sony (RCD-W500C) to record my albums and cassettes to CDs but have run out of "connections" in the back of my Technics receiver (SA-EX510).  Can I use the empty TV or VCR Audio as additional/alternate connections?

Thank you in advance....Nancy

ANSWER: Can you list the inputs/outputs available on the back of the receiver, I can not find my copy of the manual for your model.
Thanks,
Dan

QUESTION: NO - THANK YOU!  Hope this makes sense:

CD -     Right & Left
TAPE -   Record/Out - Right & Left
        Play/In - Right & Left
PHONO -  Right & Left
TV -     Audio - Right & Left
VCR -    Audio/Out - Right & Left
        Audio/In - Right & Left
TV/DVD - Video - In & Out
VCR -    Video - In & Out

I have Phono, Receiver, Equalizer, Cass Player/Recorder and CD Player/Recorder components to connect together. I am NOT using this receiver for our TV/DVD/VCR at all.

Answer
The VCR input/output jacks are the same as the tape input/output jacks.  You essentially have 2 tape decks.  The Cassette deck and the new Sony RCD.  For the easiest to use, I would connect the cassette deck to the VCR Input/output and the Sony RCD to the tape input/output.  That way when you set the receiver for recording to "tape" you are actually recording to the RCD.  You are less likely to make a mistake that way.  Otherwise you can connect the RCD to the VCR input/output and record to the "VCR".  Either method will work as you expect.  Just connect them to be the simplest for you to remember.
