Pontiac Repair: Cooling Fan Relay - 1994 Grand Prix, cooling fan, cooling fans

Question
Where is the cooling fan relay located on a 1994 Grand Prix with a 3.1 litre engine?

The engine overheats when stuck in traffic but goes down when accelerating.

We let the car idle until the temperature exceeded 100 degrees and the fan did not turn on.

Thanks

Answer
Hi
Fan relay is located in the #1 underhood fuse relay box, located on the Right side (passenger side), under hood, forward of the strut tower. IF memory serves me, I think you need to remove a small brace bar and it is under a small black plastic cover.
100deg F is not to hot. Cooling fans will often cycle from between 200 and 230 deg. F

Just advise from experience.
Hope this helps
Good Luck
