Pontiac Repair: 2002 Montana 2wd wheel bearing hub assembly, 36mm socket, wheel bearing hub assembly

Question
I ordered the wheel bearing hub assembly for both the right and left side of my 2002 Montana they are going bad.  What I need to know is what size socket or do I need a special tool to get the old hub off to put the new one on.  What I was told is I need a 36mm socket.  Please advise.

Answer
That does sound like the correct size for the axle nut, but some take a 34mm so you may want to borrow both if possible. You will also need a t40 or t45 torx bit (socket type to go on a 3/8 drive ratchet is best) if the hub assembly bolts from the front or a 14mm socket if it bolts from the back (if I remember correctly ;) )There will be 3 bolts holding it into the spindle. Hope this helps Keith, and good luck :)
