Pontiac Repair: Air Bag Light, bonnieville, test light

Question
Hi Wayne,

I just bought a 2001 BonnieVille and the Air Bag Light just came on after owning it one day. I took it to a garage and they tried to cancel it with no success. I was told it came up a code B0100 and they didn't know what that was. The light blinks a few times when I first start the car but stays on a solid red after a few seconds. I bought it from a Dealer at an auction and he said that he just put a used transmission in it, if that would help. I bought the car as is, with 93,000 miles on the 3800 motor. Other than that it seems like a good car. Can you please help me?

Answer
Hi, this could be in one of the sensor or the module, you can check the sensor that is  mounted in the front of the car. to see if it is unpluged, if this is ok then you may want to take it to a dealer and have them to check it out.
Note do not unplug or plug in any wires or check with a test light this could deploy the bag.
