Pontiac Repair: Drivers Side Window Motor, pontiac trans am, rivet tool

Question
Good Morning Wayne,

I am going to attempt to replace the window motor assembly in my 2000 Pontiac Trans Am. Is there anything special I need to know to do this or any tricks that you know of? Any special tools I need? I have already had the door panel apart once but it is hard to see up in there.

Thank You,

Mike Kuntzman

Answer
Hi, the moter is secure to a regulator with bolts or rivets,
Move the bolts or rivets and move the regulator unil it is disengaged from the sash channel. Lift the regulator from the door. On the rivets punch the center pin out, then drill the head off with a 1/4inch drill bit. Be careful not to enlarge the holes. You will need a rivet tool to put the rivets back in.
