Pontiac Repair: Air conditioning compressor, air conditioning compressor, pontiac grand am

1999 Pontiac Grand Am v6, the air conditioning compressor fails to turn when turned on. I have check the two fuses in fuse compartment under the hood and they are fine. What else should I check to determine the cause of the problem?

Check the AC system pressures. The PCM will not let the compressor turn on if it has a low system charge to prevent damage to the compressor. If you dont know anything about AC charge pressures, you should probably take it to the dealer and have it diagnosed.
