Porsche Repair: 1985 Porsche 944 overheating, electric cooling fans, thermostat switch

Question
Hey, I recently just bought a Porsche and when I drive the car or just leave it on the tempature gauge goes up all the way. When the needle reaches a certain the car starts to heat and the anti cooling starts to boil. Does you know what might be wrong and how do I fix this.

Answer
If you have electric cooling fans, you would check to see if they are coming on.  If they are not then you would check the fuses first and then thermostat switch, unplugging it and placing a jumper between the terminals to see if the fans come on.

Then there is the thermostat.
