Porsche Repair: 1989 944 S2 oil pressure light, oil pressure sending unit, halfway point

Hi,
My mechanic just replaced the 944 S2 computer.
Oil pressure light comes on a minute or so after starting the engine, even though oil is at full level.
Pressure needle starts above halfway point then drops close to bottom minute after startup.
Any idea what would cause this?

I can't say if there is any correlation between the work your mechanic did and seeing the pressure light and gauge problems, however I would call the mechanic and ask him for a courtesy consultation since the problem happened after the work and you are simply concerned.

Makes you wonder if you have oil pressure, right?
Let's hope you do.

Locate the oil pressure sending unit and check the connections. If all looks well I would try another sending unit.
