Question
i have put in new plugs cap rotor wires into a 1987 2.5 ltr in a 924s and i can not get any spark to the plugs  is there points  or something im missing and cant find

Answer
Hi Bob,

You shouldn't have missed anything.  Typically these "breakerless" (meaning no points to wear out) systems do have a rotating assembly in the distributor, below the rotor.  I assume everything was fine before you did the maintenance work, right?  Unless you removed the rotor like a gorilla, the breakerless system should be intact and work just as before.

It's odd this malady would occur now...like you, I suspect the pieces you renewed are involved somehow.  Here are two thoughts.

If you get absolutely no spark I'd check the coil wire for continuity and good connections.  The 4 other wires can't all be defective.

Next, you've got to go backwards to the coil and see if it's getting battery voltage with the key on and in start.

Check those first and let me know what you find.

Dave

PS.  I'm sure you re-verified the order of the spark plug wires, right?
