Porsche Repair: steering wheel horn, 911sc, steering wheels

Hi. I have an 81 911SC Targa. How do I remove the horn, so I can remove the steering wheel, so I can fix my high beam switch?  I've got and old Clymer shop manual that covers 1965 thru 1981. The horn button pictured in the manual is not like mine. It removes easily with a counter clockwise turn. I am afraid I will break mine if I follow this procedure. Any advice? Thanks Nick

Hi Nick,

I know exactly the counter clockwise turn you're talking about.  Works fine on the right steering wheels.  I'll admit I don't have the answer for you right now...the normal references I use haven't been helpful.

Can you send me a picture of your wheel...or a website that shows the wheel you're referring to?
