Porsche Repair: Porsche PCM & Navigation system code, porsche 996, legitimate owner

Question
Recently I bought 2002 Porsche 996 turbo with PCM(personal communication management)and NAV system through ebay. After getting my car, I had the battery changed. However,  the PCM and Nav system doesnot work until I should enter two sets of code. The problem is that I donot have these codes on hand and I also cannot reach the seller now(I doubt he still had these numbers). What should I do now? According to my knowledge, buying a new one is very expensive. Thank you for your adivse.

I don't know if this is true for your PCM and NAV, but over the years similar "secret" codes could be obtained from your local dealer and his/her contacts at the factory.  I'm sure you'll have to prove you are the legitimate owner and you may have to pay for this "service"...but the dealer's where I'd go first.
