RV Repair: Leveling jacks, battery terminals, dc motor

Question
I have a 1989 Fleetwood Southwind, my leveling jacks wont come down. I have tried crossing it to the solenoid, & checked the fuse, but I don't know much else about RVs. Do I need a new solenoid or can I put them down manually?

Answer
Since they all don't work, check the battery for power.  Make sure the fuse from the battery is not blown.  That most likely is a DC motor since you would likely level the RV before you hook up shore power.  Find the connector for on of the jacks.  Disconnect and put a DVOM on the terminals that feed the jack.  Have someone press the switch and see if you get power.  You could also have corrosion on the battery terminals.  Check for a good ground.
