RV Repair: Dayton 1L474 replacement gear, gear specialist, rv dealer

Question
I just purchased a Carriage Commander MF 4098 5th wheel RV at an auction and discovered the slideout was not working. We got it in manually but when we looked at the motor (it ran ) and tore it apart we found a gear was stripped. The gear has 10 D 0414 0904 stamped on it. The other gears are fine. Is it possible to get the gear for this without having to buy a new motor? We have checked with our local RV dealer but not having any luck. Thanks for any help. David

Answer
that number may not help.  However, taking the gear to a speciality place in your area would most likely be no problem finding.  I would say go with a steel gear but the plastic is probably made to fail if something happens.  Look for a gear specialist (Like Joint, clutch and gear), or a machine shop in your town.
