RV Repair: Towing light converter, left turn signal, fuse boxes

Question
Hi Garry,

The right turn and stop light on our pop up does not work even though the running light (same bulb different filament) does.  I tested the flat 4 connector on the tow vehicle (98 Toyota 4Runner) and got nothing when testing the right turn.  I followed the wiring up but it dissappears into the frame.  I'm looking for a converter box.  I am not sure if the tow package is factory or after market.  It does say Toyota on the plug but the manual makes no mention of a tow package.  I read something online mentioning the converter inside the rear left turn signal.  Is this where it could be located?  I have checked the fuse boxes in the engine compartment and kickplate and have found nothing for the trailer lights so I am assuming it is the converter, just need to find it.  Is there a fuse or relay I can replace once I locate it?  Thanks a bunch for your help!

Answer
Kami,

Factory convertors are usually in the driver's side rear (inside) behind a side panel in the cargo area.  Also, if this is a factory system, there are usually fuses located under the hood for the towing system separately from the standard vehicle tow system.
