RV Repair: Leaking window in rv, window seals, window seal

Question
QUESTION: I have a couple leaks in my 2001jayco quest.  I just got it and discovered the leaks.   When it rains it comes down between the walls.   Rubber roof looks good. Does this sound like bad window seals

ANSWER: Probably a window seal problem.  You can buy some great caulk to reseal the windows, and all cracks in the seams around the RV.  This caulk can be found at Home Depot or Lowe's.  It needs to respond to temp changes, and take highway speeds.  I am not a great caulker, so I can tell you first hand to be careful when applying.  A little mess now will be there for the next 10 years.  You can even buy clear and redo where the glass meets the frame in neccessary.

QUESTION: Do I need to take the window out for this or are you just talking about on the outside of window and seams?

Answer
If your window is leaking from outside the frame, where it meets the wall, you can caulk the outside edge of the frame of the windows, on the outside of the camper.  If the window is leaking where the glass meets the frame, you can caulk the frame where it meets the glass, but use clear.  It is probably where the frame and camper meet on the outside.  You will see old caulk that probably looks cracked up.

Good luck
