RV Repair: rv slide, white lithium grease, fifth wheel

Question
We purchased a 2004 alfa fifth wheel with a 18 ft. slide.  The slide is sluggish and we have to get outside and help it to get in by pushing and shaking it.  we awnt to fix this.  It has a double rerigeratot and sleeper on it but it always has had the weight.  what can we do ?  It comes in slow and stops til we help, the makes a jolt and drops a few inches and closes with help.  thanks

Answer
The best thing to do is check the battery for full charge, depending on which type of system, check the hydrolic fluid level. Check all the conections are clean and tight to the battery. Then with some white lithium grease,  lube up the slide out, underneath, any cables, pullys, etc. Anything that you can see that has to do with the workings of the slide out. It could take one or two times to get the grease where it needs to be but that should help.
