RV Repair: genset, p2 connector, ac output

Question
I'm working on a camp power 2800. I have read all your Q&A's to  learn as much as possible . I have a only runs while you hold down the start button. In reading the others I have completed as many test as I can to help decide if I need a control module or voltage regulator.   Plenty of gas I even tried a hose and can supply just to be sure. I have no AC voltage even while holding the start button. It will run if I unplug the p2 connector, but still no AC voltage. I have plenty of oil there's a wire that runs over by the drain plug, but not hooked to anything if I put 12 volts to the positive side of the coil it dies. The governor seems to work fine it just shuts off when start button is released
I would appreciate your expert advise.

Answer
it sounds like the control board is bad.once it starts in order for the control board to keep it runn it has to sense ac output.by unplugging that pin you are bypassing part of the board but without the board sensing the ac output it wont trigger the relay
