RV Repair: 1996 rockwood pop up camper, pop up camper, structer

Question
the sides on the top of our camper
the wood on the sides of the pop ups roof is rotted so we was going to replace the wood but one of the telescoping poles wont go all the way down and we took it loose from the bottom but still cant figure out why the cable wont allow the pole to telescope all the way down

Its prob bent on the inside and if the wood is rotten thats alot of structer and the corners are tought to get back tight sometines by the time you fix it you can find one on craigs list for less




If you can get that one arm down then we can prob get some parts to help finsih the job
