RV Repair: onan generator, minuits, c unit

I also have a kind of running issue my generator seems to start hard and run rough for a few minuits then once warmed up will only run smooth when under load like from the a/c unit. will surge up and down when not loaded. is this normal? is there a fix?

Dave, You may just need to tune it up and change the oil. I would run some carb cleaner that onan makes through it and change the plug or plugs and the oil, fuel and air filters. If that doesn't cure it then maybe you will want to look at the fuel pump. Never adjust a generator unless you are qualified to. I hope this helps, Bill
